This closing fireside chat is meant to create space for a very honest conversation about where organizational Truth and Reconciliation efforts in Canada currently stand, especially in the current moment that feels complex, challenging, and often collectively overwhelming for many people doing this work. The conversation will look closely at why progress has slowed or stalled, even where there have been strong intentions and public commitments.
Centring Indigenous leadership perspectives and organizational theory, the discussion will focus on how structures, decision-making processes, and accountability systems affect what actually changes in organizations. We’ll explore where organizations often get stuck, which levers tend not to work, and where there may still be real opportunities to move reconciliation efforts forward.
Supporting our UnConference theme “Belonging in complex times: Equity in courage at work”, this session is intended to help participants move past fatigue and uncertainty with a clearer sense of what’s realistic, where action is possible, and how more courageous, system-level approaches can support meaningful progress. It’s designed to be a thoughtful and grounding way to close UnConference 2026.
LANGUAGE: This session will be offered in English with live French interpretation and closed captioning in both languages.
